Qld: Dead man was deckhand: police
Police have confirmed a body found floating off the south-east Queensland coast is
that of a missing 42-year-old trawler deckhand.
The body, tied to a small plastic drum, was found by a search helicopter at 8.40 this
morning about 2.5 kilometres off the Bundaberg coast, north of Brisbane.
The site is near where the man fell off the trawler shortly before midday yesterday.
The man had not been wearing any safety equipment.
Police say the body has been positively identified by the skipper of the trawler, but
the man's family is yet to be advised.
