COMPETITOR HITS PROBE OF CAR SALE.(Capital Region)

A car salesman who lost out on a bid for an Albany County contract doesn't think much of the federal grand jury investigation into the transaction.

"It's stupid, the whole thing is stupid," said John Robertson, a salesman with Orange Motor Co. who testifed for about 20 minutes before the grand jury on Thursday.

The panel is hearing testimony regarding a car purchased in December 1991 for the county Probation Department from Coeymans dealership Bud Kearney Inc.
